and I do not know what they are. She is fine and they do not bother her. They look like dry patches, on her back and sides. She had bad diaper rash. But I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with this.
Thanks everyone!!!We use free and clear detergent for all our clothes, but now that someone mentioned the bath soap, I think that is the culprit. So we started using a new one about a month ago, so now we are switching back to the old one. we have an appointment on the 2nd to see her doctor. Thanks again everyone!!!!!
It's probably just dry skin or sensitive skin. My son was sensitive to Johnson's baby wash and lotion so I switched to Dove bar soap and Eucerin Calming Cream and that helped a lot.
It could be excema and it could be just normal dry skin due to the weather. I went to the doctor recently for this, my daughter had a patch on her arm too, the doctor said it was not excema but just dry skin. She told me to put hydra cortizone cream on it or to put vaseline and then sit in a robe for a while to soak it in. For the little one I agree with the aquaphor or eucerin cream. No scented lotions.
My daughter had dry patches. The doctor looked at them and said to use aquaphor or eurcerine. We already had aquaphor in the house so we used it and it worked. We figured out we were over dresssing her at night. We would put a onsie under her pj's. Since at the time she was a back sleeper, she would sweat and it would dry her skin. Now we only put the onsies on if it is really a cold night. Haven't had a problem since.
I would recommend seeing the pediatrician or at least bringing it up at her next check-up, even if it's gone by then. It's probably just exema, but it never hurts to check with your doctor.
Sounds like it may be eczema. Find a good dermatologist that can see babies and get their input and possibly something to put on the spots. In the meantime, keep baths short and moisturize with fragrance free, super creamy moisturizers. Use something that is in a jar. Moisturizers that pump or pour are mostly water. Wash clothes with fragrance-free dye-free detergent (I like All Free & Clear) and keep a cool mist humidifier going until we can officially turn off the heat.
It could be ezcema, that is how my daughters started, you should have it looked at. HOpe this helps some

You would need to consult with a doctor to be sure, but I would bet it is eczema. My husband and daughter both have it. It didn't bother her until she got older and started being able to scratch at it. She is two and we are still trying different lotions. One thing that has helped that our doctor suggested was not to bathe her more than needed. Water and soap just dry her out even more. We also found out she has food allergies about a year ago and since we got that under control, her skin has also gotten better.
Hey lady! long time no see =-) Prolly just eczema, collier had that. DOc told me to only bath him w/ water for a while and use a baby eczema cream and it went away. Otherwise, allergy??

I agree with changing your products that you bathe your daughter with and wash her clothes with as well. It's funny that you posted this message, I just took my son in to the dr. for the same symptoms. After I gave him a bath they always looked worse. The dr. said to put Hydrocortisone 1% on them and so far so good, they are going away.

My son had eczema from a few weeks old to about 1 year...nothing horrible, but I remember thinking, "What the heck are these patches?!?" Two things REALLY made the patches appear on his face/body: 1. Wetness from his sweat/diaper/slobbers. 2. Those metal snaps that you find on sleepers! This one really confused us for awhile. The spots that showed up were perfect circles, but we figured out that each time one appeared, he'd have pj's on that had a snap in the same location! The doctor gave us sample tubes of Aquaphor as well as a prescription ointment (I think it was an RX formula of Aquaphor). We later switched to Eucerin cream from a little tube - and that worked fine. Good luck!
To me it sounds like eczema. Try using Eucerin cream on it. If it doesn't improve call your doctor--they may want to see it.

My daughter is 7 months and has the same thing. It did get a touch worse before it got better. And I only use fragrance free baby products on her. I just used more Cetaphil lotion on the areas and it seemed to get better. It's just that time of year. Everyone's skin goes through changes. Just make sure to use lotion so she doesn't get itchy. It probably doesn't bother her though. Good luck!

Definitely talk to your pediatrician about it, but here's my two cents. My daughter went for her one year check-up the other day and we showed her dr. the dry bumpy patches and spots on her back. She said not to worry, it was prickly heat rash from sweating at night (does your baby get very hot at night?) and gave us a few sample tubes of (over-the-counter) Eucerin calming cream (she said to use a heavier, non-medicated moisturizing cream rather than a lotion).
