My son does not eat meat either. But, with all the things they are putting in them now a days I rather he didn't. Don't get me wrong I love me a good steak and so does my 8 yr old. My son is 3 and will not eat meat and take two different vitamins. I think as long as he loves good food and takes his meds he will be find. So I have a Vegetarian in my home. :)

My daughter did not eat any meat till age 3, she hated the taste/texture. We just kept offering it, not forcing her to eat and finally around age 4 she eats 2-3 bites. Meats she eats now ham, chicken, pork, fish sticks.

Food with iron that my daughter eats:
Raisins (1/2cup has as much iron as 1oz of liver 4mg-5mg)
peas (1/2cup has 1.5mg-2mg)
oatmeal (1 cup has 1.5mg-2mg)
rice (1 cup has 0.7mg-1.4mg)
potatoes (1 cup has 0.7mg-1.4mg)
Watermelon (6in width x 1/2in thick has 1.5mg)
Pumpkin seeds (2 Tablespoons has 2.5mg)
Sunflower seeds( 2 Tablespoons has 1.2mg)
Eggs (1 egg has 0.7mg)
Peanut Butter (100g has 1.5-1.9mg)

I also look for bread, pasta, orange juice, cereal that has iron in it.

do a Google search for 'foods with iron".

Also do a Google search on "how much iron does a child need."

How old is your daughter????

My 2 y/o son is the SAME way. The only meat he will eat is chicken nuggets.
One GREAT thing to try...Smoothies!

You can make a strawberry & banana *or whatever fruits you like* And blend in some spinach, carrots, tomato, etc and your lil one will never know the difference.
My son LOVES them.
I buy fresh, or you could do frozen fruits that know he loves.
Stick them in the blender with different veggies, ice & some milk.
Blend together and YUM!
He will drink the whole thing if I let him.

She may be lacking the internal enzymes to process the protein from meat. Get her enzyme tested. I can send you more information on this, if you like.

You can get protein from peanut butter, eggs, and beans. My son won't eat meat because of the texture. Give those a try for a while...

My son was/is the same way. He's 4 years old and is just starting to like different meats. But I have struggled for years with him as well. I found he liked ground turkey, so that became a staple in our diet and now he likes pork. He doesn't like steak, but I think it's because it takes so long for him to chew it. Just make sure she gets other foods that are high in protein and iron.
Good luck!

Some people NEVER eat meat, just do what is suggested below and feed her other foods with protein and iron. Hard boiled eggs are a great source of protein, beans... etc. If she doesnt like meat yet, no worries.

Lucky you. My kids are picky. I'd load her up on leafy greens which are high in iron. Maybe research other foods high in iron. If she doesn't go for meat I wouldn't worry about it. They have shown that meat is not so good for you anyway. good luck.
