I came back from a 2-week vacation about a week ago. Before that, my cycle had been 36 days which is considered as normal according to books I had read. I used to go once a week accupuncture too. And right after I came back, I got really sick and in bed for two days. I believe vacation and being sick messed up my cycle! I am not planning on going back for accupuncture because of the cost. I am hoping that everything is going back to normal...soon? Right now, I am on day 39 and no period yet. Not pregnant, because I believe I ovulated during vacation period. Should I wait another week to see if I get my period or ??

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I have been trying to conceive for about a year now. So the first four months after I got off my pill, it was a disaster and I probably only had two periods in those four months. I know I am not pregnant this cycle, because I was on vacation without my hubby. After I posted my question, I got my period this morning! HA! I guess it really helps to speak out so you don't get stressed out!! I will be trying out Clomid for the first time soon, so wish me luck!

I suggest that you don't need to be concerned. It's common for a period to change from time to time. Our bodies are human and are influenced by numerous variables. Being on vacation and being sick are definite reasons for a period to be late. I've not known anyone who has never had a late period or an early period or a heavy period or a light period. Hormones fluctuate.

Mine is never the same. So annoying and makes planning vacations a nightmare, since I hate having a cycle that much. I should have gotten mine on Saturday, and it's still not here. Knowing my luck, I'll get it just in time to be on it the entire week I am on a cruise in January. Ugh...but no, I wouldn't worry. It can change.

I have the most regular period. For 15 years, no deviation. Except, when I've been sick. (Or pregnancy, obviously.) Getting sick always, without fail, screws up my cycle.

If you think you could be pregnant, take a test. If it's negative, wait a week to test again. If you get another negative, it might be time to see your Dr.

I had very long cycles when I was younger. Doing yoga every day (there are certain exercises that stimulate the abdomen and hormone-producing glands) got it totally in order.
Also: This may sound silly: Research suggests that paying attention to the moon can get you back onto ovulating when it is full, bleeding when it is gone. I have moved my period back onto that cycle several times just by focusing.
Don't take meds and don't worry about it too much. And don't stress.
