My Child's Old Stuff

My son is 18 months old and we've collected so much stuff. Clothes, toys, etc. What is a good way to get rid of this clutter. I would like to sell some of the things and donate the rest. I'm not having any more children so I don't need to keep them.

What can I do next?

Craigslist is pretty easy to use for the items you want to sell. As far as donating, you could check with local churches to see if they need anything in their nurseries. Freecycle.org is also a nice place to post things for free if you want to help someone in need.

If you don't want to go the internet route, you could bring the items you want to sell to Once Upon A Child. They have several locations around the Chicagoland area and will take most things if they are in useable condition. They actually pay pretty well - I have been pleasantly surprised each time I have sold things there. If you google the name their website will come up. Good luck!

Hello B.-

I have a 16 mos. old & have the same problem. Too much clutter! I found the best way for us, is to sell things on Ebay, its a nice extra income, and we use the money to create more clutter! lol.. Its been a wonderful outlet for us. You also might try, with the larger items, a childrens resale shop. They won't give you that much for them, but its one way of getting rid of things.

HI B., I have a small daycare in my home and am always looking for gently used items that I may purchase at a reasonable price. I also lead up a children's ministry at my church and currently we have 2 babies ages 9 months and 8 months. Any donations including clothes would be appreciated and accepted but we would also purchase if the price is reasonable as we are a small home based ministry. Let me know! Thanks in advance.
