So I just turned 38. I have noticed my breasts feel like 100 pounds each. They are both very sore, And not just when I am due for my period. I have also noticed myself gaining some weight, Feeling bloated. Of course I have had a very lazy winter, And not paying much attention to my diet. I have always been a size 2, Now I am a size 4. But my most concern is why my breasts feel this way? They are bulging out of my bras. A friend actually asked me if I was pregnant, And I am not. Have any of you experienced this? Of course I am now panicking thinking I have ovarian cancer, Or breast cancer? Any thoughts? Please be kind. I know this is a little TMI, LOL!!!

What can I do next?

At 38 it's not too soon to start up with some peri-menopause symptoms.
It's just a really gradual long drawn out (can go on for 10 years or longer) reverse puberty and that means hormone fluctuations.
You know for sure you're in it when you get your first hot flash.
Bring it up at your next annual checkup and see what your doctor has to say about it.

Most likely it's just a shift in hormones however make an appointment with your gyn to put your mind at ease.

Do you drink a lot of coffee, colas, drinks with a lot of caffeine? That would cause what you are describing.

I just want to add in light of the hormone answers. I had the same thing happen. I nursed four kids, it felt like the same glands that produced milk were swollen and painful. I did go to my doctor, he told me to relax and cut out the Pepsi. I was 35 or 36 at the time. I stopped drinking Pepsi and it went away within a week, seemed like a couple days really.

I'd make an appointment with an OB/GYN. It could be early menopause. If so they can put you on a birthcontrol like pill and it will keep you regular and stop the symptoms for a while.
