Sleep cycles are 1.5 hours long. Waking at the end of one - refreshed. Waking in the middle - groggy.
Try waking at 7:30 (1.5 past 6am) and see if that helps. :)
My baby who is now a toddler of 21 months went from a 6:00- 6:30 wake up time to a 7:30 wake up time. She sleeps well through the night and this weekend even slept until 8:00 a.m.! Problem is, I feel more sleepy than when I used to get up at 6:00 a.m. What gives? Its been a few weeks since the new schedule. At first I chalked it up to much needed catch up sleep. But here I am still sleepy. I'm extra sleepy in the morning and want to crash early.
I go to be around 10:30, but last night crashed at 9:30

What time are you going to bed? Alot of times you will feel tired if you get too much sleep. Though reading your post makes me greatful for my sleepy monkeys. My 3mnth old gets up at 7:30! My 2 year old will stay in bed till I tell him to come out for breakfast, and was able to entertain himself till 9 am in his crib when he was 6mnths old.
My baby changd her wake time too and i had to search to find a good wake up time.
How old is your mattress? I started routinely feeling tired all the time, even waking up tired, after adequate hours in the bed, when our mattress was at its end. It was like, one day I just realized that for the past few months I was tired when I woke up every day. Thought about it for a week or two, and finally figured out that our mattress was old.
Went mattress shopping pretty quickly after that, and once the new one was delivered, slept like a dream and woke up rested again. Ahhhh.....
Maybe you're getting too much sleep! Too much sleep can also leave you sluggish. Plan for no more than 8 hours sleep and I bet you will feel better!
Jane,
I know what you mean, the longer I sleep, the more tired I am too.I believe your body is used to a certain amount of sleep, when you change it longer or shorter,it disrupts the cycle of sleep. There are a couple stages or cycles of sleep.I google it and see what it says!!!!!wake up when you were before and see if it helps,it might not be worth it,ya know?
I know exactly what you mean! Maybe your mind actually wants to crash earlier in hopes of waking up before your baby to get some ME morning time.
But yeah, I slept 8 hours last night and was dragging all day. I chalk it up to PMS :-)
