Hi Ladies... Just recently my 7 month old son stopped eating his formula... I just dont understand why he wont eat it! He has been introduced to some solids and now he would just rather eat off the spoon and he wont take the bottle. well Now i mix his formula into his food and he cant tell the difference but i dont think he is getting enough formula. What do i do... Is this normal cause my older son didnt do this.

What can I do next?

Hi, Little ones tend to want to take after older siblings. Mix the formula with other foods and offer a sippie cup with the formula. You should always talk to your babys doctor if your confused. He or she may not want you to intrduce milk to early or to much. Also if your son is healthy I wouldn't worry to much. My youngest was eating real food (not baby food jars) at 6 months she took her formula in a sippie cup, was threw with her bedtime bottle shortly after and completely done with baba before she was a year old. Be happy he doesn't want the bottle. Good Luck

There are liguid vitamins you can give him. Mix that in his solids. Just be careful because you can give them too much vitamins. I found mine in the pharmacy departments in the stores.

As long as he is growing and staying active, then you have nothing to worry about. Failure to Thrive is where they stop growing, lose weight and are not as active and that will be what you have to watch for. It sounds like maybe you need to get some sipper cups for him. He very well could be wanting to be like big brother. Mine all stopped letting me feed them very early too, because I didnt feed their older sibs. They are very independent, even if I dont want them to be!! lol They want to imitate the older sibs, my 2 yr old is positive that she can do ANYTHING that my 7 yr old can do, even when she was 6 months old. She even started talking at an early age to keep up with my son. She will be 3 in August and has the vocabulary of a 4 or 5 yr old. Its amazing how much these younger kids soak up from the older ones. My baby is going to be my earliest walking I think, she is 10 months and starting to pull herself up. Now before you say, big deal, let me add that my other 2 were way over a year before they even tried, my son was 15 months, and my 2 yr old was almost 18 months. The baby wants to be with her older sibs so badly that she is trying very hard to keep up. lol So try a sippy cup, or if you son uses a regular cup, try that. Watch that he doesnt fall into failure to thrive mode. And Good Luck!

My daughter has the same problem. Sometimes I will only feed her one small jar of baby food and then she will fight taking the bottle but eventually she will just give in and eat a few ounces. Our pediatrician told us as long as she gets 16oz of formula a day. You should consult with your pediatrician.

Count your blessings! my almost-two-year-old won't eat much food at all and still wants "ba-ba!", and my almost-four-year-old literally drinks a carton of orange juice a day and eats no food. Every body needs different things and if your little guy wants to eat food, I'd be all for it. Try "YoBaby Organic Yogurt with Cereal" and maybe mix in some formula for your own peace of mind. If he'll eat YoBaby, then you know he's getting the iron he'd be getting from formula.

Good luck!

I wouldn't be concerned....just put his formula in a sippy cup. No where on the formula canister does it say it HAS to go in a bottle. We did this when they thought they were too big for a bottle or even just introducing a sippy cup. Mixing cereal, use formula. In my unprofessional opinion....at 7 months, they are ready for milk anyway. If they are eating plenty of table food to get the vitamins, milk should be just fine too.
God's Blessings and have fun!
