My son suffers from reflux from time to time and I'm wondering if that is effecting the growth of nostril hair , I know those hairs are important ! Or is it that they have not formed yet? Help pls .

What can I do next?

I googled it and evidently children and woman don't really have obvious hair. It's much shorter and less noticeable in women and in children it's tiny. You could take him to an ENT/ORL doc for a check up and ask them, they'll know for sure if something is wrong with the nasal hair.

Are you sure he doesn't have nose hairs? I can barely tell that I do.

I take meds for reflux, and I've never felt as though I didn't have nose hairs.

I've never thought about it. Lol.. I have a hiatal hernia and have been on Prilosec. I have nose hairs. I think as you age you notice them more. I wouldn't be too concerned, but if you are ask any ENT and they could find out!

Most likely it's just too fine for you to see.

Thanks for everyone's help In response to natalie k . When someone suffers from reflux the acid in your stomach goes up into your throat including your nostrils while sleeping and can even enter your lungs causing fluid . That is why it's related .

Little kids generally have nose hair that is finer and more sparse than adults. A lot of it is not visible from the nasal opening. This is something that develops as people grow/age. :-) You could always ask at his next checkup. It's easy for a doctor to take a peek with a scope.

I have blonde peach-fuzz-like nose hair. Most women I have been around have thick, dark, visible hair, to the point they trim, or at least pluck the more visible ones out. It does not mean I don't have any, I do, it's just only visible under a flashlight. Strangely, I suffer from hirsutism, yet this is pretty much the only place where I do not grow hair (okay, and also my palms, and the soles of my feet). Kids grow hair slowly, and it's much finer than adult hair. I would not worry about it. At the same time, I don't see why you think there is a correlation between an internal, digestive disorder like acid reflux, which entails the stomach and esophagus and bodily hair...since when are those two things related?
