It could just be something that your child has learned how to do and so he does it because he thinks it's fun.
Hi Moms My 2 Year old started this new thing where he shakes his head back n forth like saying no but much faster sort of like a tremble I can do it so we do it playing around sometimes so i wanted to know has anyone experienced this and should i be worried at all should i rush with him to a doctor?

My son did that with Terrettes Syndrome type symptoms. We rushed him to the ER thinking it was seizures but they said it was nervous tics. We found that food allergies caused this.
If he can stop himself from doing this, and it is the only "weird" thing he is doing, it's probably nothing you need to worry about.
My daughter has been doing this since she was just over a year old. She's now almost 2 1/2. She does this to soothe and calm herself, sometimes to fall asleep, but often, just whenever she feels like it. It's gotten to the point where she has a bald spot at the back of her head from rubbing it back and forth against her mattress, highchair back, stroller back, etc. I've asked the doctor several times about this at check ups (i.e. she's still doing the thing where she shakes her head...) and he says if it is the only thing and there doesn't seem to be any developmental issues, it's fine. I cannot WAIT until she outgrows it, though.
Can he stop doing it when you tell him to? If so, it's behavioral and not a medical issue. If he isn't doing it on purpose and can't control it, then get him into his doctor right away
So he has learned a new thing to get moms panties in a bunch LOL kids they will do that to us.
Watch him from a distance when he is playing or watchig a cartoon, something where there is no interaction between him & you or anyone else & see what he does if it looks like he has no control of it I would call his pediatrician or call an ambulance if he has a seizure.
Yes all my kiddos will shake their heads in play mode or when they say no when asked to do something.I did have a scare with my 4 year old who was 2 at the time but she was fine
My son did this too, up until he was about 3. It would freak others out when they saw it, but he seems to have grown out of it. Can't really say what it was but thought it was his way of letting out energy. If it worries you of course ask the ped, but in our case it turned out fine.
