Fresh Spinach is easily disguised when cooked and blended with soft cheeses, like ricotta or cream cheese. A fun dish for kids is Green Spahgetti. Blend spinach with a combonation of ricotta and cream cheese, a bit of chicken broth, salt, pepper and garlic if desired. If the sauce is too thick, add more broth or water from the cooked pasta and if too thin, add more cheese. Make pasta as usual and toss thoroughly with the sauce. Then the theme of the night is "monster food" - we're going to eat like monsters. Just an idea.

Hello M.,

My son and myself are anemic. He's 2. When he was diagnosed at one year, I began to cook some of his foods in a cast iron skillet, and to also include beans of any type in his diet. He wasn't as gassy as I thought he would be either.I don't know if where you live has one, but if you sought out help from the local W.I.C program (Women Infants and Children ), you get help with nutrition services. It's NOT welfare, and the max income in Ventura county where I live is for a family of 4, $ 42K a year. See if they are a vailable for a nutrition evaluation, ( free) and if you receive assistance, they will help evaluate your family and the nutritional needs for them. It's an awesome program! Good Luck

I have heard that certain types or maybe all types of bananas are high in iron which should help with anemia. Try smoothies or shakes with high iron foods or supplements.

Hope that helps!
