have you tried calling the advise nurse or her doctor about it? although for them fever starts at 101 or 102 (not sure) but like you 98.8 will definitely make me worry. she might have tonsillitis or eaten something that upset her tummy, or she may have played a lot outside too much. I don't know if I am helping here, but if she isn't fussy/crying I think she'll be fine but make sure to monitor her through the night, coz you'll never know. but if she's been crying, in my opinion I will give my daughter Tylenol or which ever is her medication for fever and pain.

Does not have a fever. She just might be having an off day or two. Just like adults only they cannot verbalize it. Maybe teething.

Sometimes it takes a while for more symptoms to develop. Keep trying to offer fluids. Sometimes it's easier to get them to drink if you have a new cup or different drink. Give it another day for symptoms to crop up.

Since she doesn't have a fever but doesn't want to eat, she might be teething. Is she fussy?

Does your baby have any symtoms to indicate she is sick? Or is she fussy or acting as if she doesn't feel well? 98.8 isn't really considered a fever.

Keep trying to push fluids as dehydration will be the main worry. Most doctors will tell you that 98.6 is the average normal temp unless you have a record showing that she runs lower. My daughter runs around 96.4 to 95.8 so for her a 98.8 is a high temp. Unless they have this showing in well check ups there is nothing they will do other than tell you to push fluids.

Good luck and hope she returns to normal soon.
