I recently moved to Cleveland, TN. I love the area so far, and have already gone to the national forest here, but I was wondering what other things are fun to do in the area... any great parks, recreation areas, historic areas, favorite camping/hiking spots, scenic drives, etc. We have an 8 month old DD, and we are planning on camping and such with her over the summer. We are on a fairly limited budget, but we can afford to do 1-2 'big' things over the summer. ('big' meaning going to an amusement park or something similar...)
Every State, has a tourism website. Try Google search it, and these types of sites, have everything you need to know, about the State/activities etc.
Maybe a little down the rode, but make sure to visit Mammouth Caves in KY!!!! We went thru a 2hr tour when my daughter was not yet 4 yrs old.
Tennesse is SUCH a great place....the beauty of The Appalachian Mountains is unsurpassed....Gaitlinburg is a great place to visit...and you can do it on a budget if you don't include Dollywood in your visit...lol.
Dollywood, never been there but I understand it is great.
Chattanooga is packed with great things to do...the Aquarium is a must see...Visit The Chattanooga Choo Choo just to say that you have been there....and don't forget to sample some of the great barbeque at Sticky Fingers while you are in Chattanooga.
Nashville and Memphis are both jam packed with things to see and do.
You are living in "God's country"...enjoy!!!

Dollywood is fantastic
Lots of waterfalls around the Nat'l Park -- if you stop in at the visitor's center on the parkway btwn Gatlingburg/Pigeon Forge the rangers will help you map out trails to hike, all within 30 minutes drive.
Cherokee NC isn't too far away for "Unto These Hills" the story of the Trail of Tears.
Chattanooga also has a great children's museum downtown and the Ducks.
Chatenooga was a fun place to go i would go again if I lived closer.
there is dolly wood, great smokey natl park, aquairiums in gatlinburg and in chattanooga, the imax in chattanooga different types of hands on places in the tricities and in chattanooga, a boat ride (forget the name) in chattanooga, hmmm tryin to think of other places i have been and take the kiddies to, chattanooga has lots of places you can go and isnt that far from cleveland, rock city, ruby falls, the tram that goes up the side of i think its signal mountain, used to live in chattanooga, there is also sweetwater, they have caverns you can go thru, river park

Dollywood is in TN, you could go to Graceland or Memphis. Nashville would be fun too. The Smokey Mountains would be a great place to camp. I don't know too much about TN, but those things popped in to my head. What about going to VisitTN's website and ask to be sent a brochure. You will find plenty to do, I'm sure! :)
