I have a beautiful five year old boy with Autism. I was wondering if anyone knew of any music teachers who teach special needs children. I would really appreciate any information on this as I don't know where start. We live in the Frisco area and would love to find somebody local.
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions, I am really interested in the Music Therapy and will be making some calls to get something scheduled. What a great support system, I am sure I will be using it again in the near future.
The Music Academy in Denton has a special needs music teacher. I know that's a bit of a drive from Frisco but she really is wonderful. They work along with a pediatric therapy place called Hope Pediatric Therapy and Learning in Denton.

I don't know anyone but you might visit the LISD SEPTSA website. You don't have to live in LISD to visit the site and anyone can join for the price of the membership fee.
They are a great resource and the parents get on and ask each other questions and share info.
