Muscle Knots

I have a horrible muscle knot in my shoulder & neck. Any home remedy suggestions that are baby friendly? I thought about a hot pack followed by a cold pack but I'm not sure if this is allowed. Any help would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

I have cronic back and shoulder problems due to my old job (stock person). Hot and Cold packs are great and are allowed, even in pregnancy- Just no hot on your tummy 1st Trimester. Another thing that I have found that works (if you can get off the floor... roll on a tennis ball. It will loosen those knots fast. Getting a massage is a great idea if you have the money ( I never did), and soaking in a bath of epsom salts is awesome advice.Just be sure to get a bath pillow or roll up a towel for under your neck. Good luck.

massage is okay (and good for you) now that you are in the 2nd trimester

also try to increase water intake & a salt bath can help relieve the knots. good luck!

mostly you don't want heat around the baby area - hot pack/cold pack on the shoulder is okay I think. You do want to make sure it's moist heat (a warm washcloth instead of a heating pad) so that the moisture doesn't leave the muscles & skin.

Time for a massage. Go get a chair massage at the mall if you can't afford the real deal. Also...stretch, walk, drink lots of water, find Tiger Balm Patches at the local GNC or whatever is near you.
I had (have) sciatica since the first trimester of my pregnancy! Girl I know!
Good Luck
