I agree with Amy. The 2 and 4 year old can come get you if they really need you at night. Only the baby needs to be monitored. My boys stopped using a monitor once they started sleeping in big boy beds.
Our family is expanding and we will soon have 3 small children sleeping in 3 different bedrooms (ages 4, 2 and newborn). Does anyone know if there is a good monitor available with 3 different channels that all work clearly? Or do we need some kind of intercom system? Any thoughts/input appreciated :-)

If the 4 year old and the 2 year old can come get you if they wake up and need you, you don't need a monitor. Just use your old one for the baby.
Good luck with your new baby!

I could never understand this monitor craze. Once they were in bed I didn't WANT to hear from them!
Our monitor is Safety 1st and it scans across 3 rooms, 5 seconds in each room. Or you can set it to just one room. (I wish you could set it for two. We bought ours 3 years ago - maybe they've changed that in the meantime.) We have loved it. We still use it with our 5-year-old at night! She sometimes has nightmares and is too scared to come out of her room to get us in the middle of the night. With the monitor on her room, she doesn't have to scream her head off to get our attention. Anyway, I highly recommend the one we have. Good luck!
I agree with Amy. You are going to need all the rest you can get to keep up with the 2 and 4 year old during the day. Just one monitor for the newborn but really depending on how close their room is you might not need any, that way you won't be up at every grunt a baby does and will only wake for something real. I am sure as a mother you know that we "half sleep" until we know our children are safe. But if you are not one of those that can do that then just a monitor for the baby. I never got to keep the montitor on in the bedroom because it woke my husband and he can't get back to sleep but I used it during the day when I was not near my kids' room.
I am in a similar boat, but just want to monitor two rooms. I didn't find anything by Safety 1st that will monitor more than one room. Only thing I have been able to find is Bebe Sounds Portable Color Video and Sound Monitor -2 Cameras (from Target online). I haven't purchased yet. Did you find anything?
I have the same (sounds like) safety first monitor with 3 monitors and 2 recievers and bought it used and some pieces are not working now so I have looked and like you I can't find much! I have been wondering if I by 2 of the same type can I make it work but probably not. I have seen one at $99 that has 2 of each piece and you might be able to search craiglist or baby consignment shops for a used on like that then I agree the 4 year old could probably be ok without one or you could try to shuffle them around as needed. If you do find anything let us know!
I have to agree with not using the monitors for the 4 & 2 year olds... We use Summer monitors which have the video display; They have a 2 channel function and we had one for each child (now 3 & 4); we RARELY even turn them on any more. I would suggest to just keep one for your newborn (Congratulations!); and have a separate one to put in one of the other childrens' room if they're sick or something...
