Moving with 3 Month Old and 2 Year Old

It looks like my family will most likely be relocating to a new state in um... two weeks. I just found out and I am sort of freaking out. For the past year I have been staying home with my kids, so I am a little overwhelmed to be going back to work, putting the little ones in daycare, and moving back to our home state in such a short time frame.

It appears that I will be relocating with the kids and my husband will stay at our home and get it ready to sell. My hubby is going to be transferring offices within his company while I am starting a new job. I have called and reserved daycare spots with two separate centers and plan on going to check them out next week. I am also going to look at temporary housing during my trip. My in-laws live about 45 minutes away from where we will be working/living, so they may be able to help a bit, too.

Has anyone gone through this? I am feeling completely crazy right now, but I know that this is the right thing to do for our family. Any tips?

What can I do next?

Just try to relax. We are military, so you can say I have been through this a time or two :) It is always an adjustment, but on the bright side, you already know the area you are moving too, so the transition should be relatively smooth. Just do not freak out over the small stuff, and let time work things out for you. And above all, relax! It is never as awful or as crazy as we convince ourselves it is going to be.

You moving back home. Lucky you. Every time I moved it was to a new place, military. The only thing that kept me sane at times was knowing all Targets and Walmarts are set up virtually the same.
Start using paper plates and cooking easy meals. Costco has frozen pulled pork and beef, among other easy fixings.
Invite MIL to help. If she is like mine she will be so happy you asked her.
YOU have a lot of stress right now. Be sure to just relax, take some videos of Elmo put him in and just be with the babies. Do what absolutely needs to happen, getting an apartment, groceries then just sit. It will all come together,.

I don't really have tips...but we just did this a few months ago. It does feel SO unsettling but it will all work out. I decided to stay home and not go back to work, but moving is a full time job in and of itself! It's great that you have family nearby...that can make life a LOT easier if they can help with the kids while you unpack and get settled. (Maybe I'm not the best one to answer this question though...we're 3 months in our new home and still have boxes in a bunch of rooms! LOL)

This would be a big transition for anyone. It will be fine. It may be an adjustment for the kids at daycare but they will really enjoy themselves playing with the other kids and they will be used to it when they get ready to go to big school. Your 3m old won't really remember this, but if you have spare time take pictures of your child at his favorite hang out and pick up little momentos along the way. That way you can tell him that you may be moving but he can take a little piece of home with him until he gets used to where you are. Hope that helps.
