Hi L.:

I have lived in Hillsborough for 20 years. My children attended Sunnymead Elementary and loved it. Great teachers, great activities, etc. Honestly, I think all of the schools in Hillsborough are good. Where are you moving to? Which school will they attend?

Good Luck.

Hi L.,

We've lived in Hillsborough for more than eight years and just love it. My daughter is also going into first grade. I have not heard really any bad things about any of the Hillsborough elementary schools. I know people who have children in just about all of them and they all are very happy with the curriculum, the teachers, the activities and the environment of their school.

My daughter has gone to the Somerset Valley YMCA daycare in Hillsborough since she was a baby. I have been very pleased with the care she has received and with the curriculum used there for preschoolers and above classes. They offer full-day Kindergarten as well, which is where my daughter is now. In addition to a solid academic program, they offer many types of enrichment programs including: gym, music, Spanish, swimming lessons, as well as a variety of sports programs. I also know there is an excellent Montessori school just down the road from the Y on South Branch Road (but I cannot think of the name of it). I know someone whose daughter went there and really liked it.

If you want to talk more, my personal e-mail is ____@____.com.

Welcome to the neighborhood and good luck getting all settled in.

Hillsborough's elementary schools have a really good reputation but your address will determine which school your daughter will go to and also what afterschool programs she can be bussed to. As for your 3 year-old, I recommend Kiddie Academy where my daughter goes. I visited 10 daycares and this was the only one that had everything..accreditation, great hours, meals,long-term staff, professional administration, academic curriculum, web cameras, etc. Welcome! Hillsborough is a nice town.

Hi L.,

I live Hillsborough with my 10 month old daughter. My husband and I have lived here for almost 3 years, and love it! We are looking to move, but definitely want to stay in Hillsborough. I am not sure about the schools, I have heard good things about many of them. As for daycares, we go to The Learning Experience on Auten Road. We love it. The teachers are all wonderful, and administration has handled and fixed any minor concerns we have had. My daughter has attended since she was 3 months old, and now just waves goodbye when we leave. We also found it to be more affordable and cleaner than some of the others.

Good luck with your move, I think you will really enjoy living here!
