So we are lucky enough to have been able to move into a larger home, in the same city we are currently living. However to be able to afford new house, we had to buy one that needed a LOT of love before it is move in ready. Thankfully we have about three weeks to give it the love and elbow greese it needs/deserves before moving in. I am trying to get all our ducks in a row and get everything ready for the big move. I have been trying to change our address everywhere needed and I'm sure I am forgetting something.
I changed all our credit cards and bank stuff, husband is stopping by the post office on his way home from work today, where else do I need to change it?

Also if you were my wallet where would you be? I never should have taken it out of the diaper bag, but I got excited going shopping without the kids on Saturday. None of my cards have been used and I have called both stores I went to twice. Any random ideas where my 2 1/2 year old may have stashed it?

What can I do next?

I just moved a few months ago and missed online accounts. I order books from different online websites and missed one. So make sure you get all those accounts changed. Also insurances, doctors offices, voting cards etc. Good Luck!

Make sure to let your insurance company know your new address, especially if you insured the new home with a different carrier. Even if you insured with the same carrier, double check that they changed the address on all your policies. Change it at work, the doctors, dentists, and then hopefully the change of address at the post office should get the random stuff you get.

Does your toddler have a toy box? I'd check there, under the couch, under the bed, anywhere your toddler likes to stash stuff. Hope you find it!

Get one of the moving packs they have at the post office. Also, once you put in your change of address card a lot of banks and such will change your address automatically. As for your wallet I am sorry I can't help you there.

I know in some areas the same city is in 2 different counties. If that's the case, notify your new county. I ran into problems with my car in Virginia when I moved. Don't forget to tell your utility companies too. I swore I told my electric company when I moved and my new address and they claim they never got it and sent me to collections over a $25 bill. This was 2 years after I moved.

About the wallet, last time I lost mine, it was at Toys R Us. The first time I went there they said they didn't have it. I went back a few days later and it was there. So I would check with the stores again. Also, look under your car seats.

You can go to the post office and get a mail forwarding kit. That way if you forget to inform someone of the address change the post office will forward any mail to you for a full year and when you do get forwarded mail from someone you can call them with your change of address. Some places to remember to change: DMV for licences and registrations, all medical and dental offices, schools, magazine subscriptions, cell phone company, basically any place you get a bill from. Since your in the same city, just let the utility companies know the date of your move so they know when to shut off and turn on things. As far as your wallet, I wish you luck with your search. Good luck with your move.
