We currently live in Frisco/The Colony area and want to move North in search of a little more land. We are looking for 3-10 acres and the current areas we are looking at are Gunter, Pilot Point and Aubrey. I would love any feedback on these locations, recommendations on other surrounding areas to consider, school districts, neighborhoods, etc. I am open to information you are willing to share.

Thanks!

I recommend Gunther and Pilot Point. I've only met friendly people from there. Aubrey parents and their kids in sports has been a less than positive experience in the last 7 years. That's Aubrey proper not the neighborhoods along 380, those have all been great experiences. But there is not land in those neighborhoods. Good luck to you.

I think Gunter has the best schools, and check to see if they still have that land endowment that provides a college scholarship for every graduate. I think the commute south is better on Preston Road than 377, and will be better once the Tollway is built. Growth in Prosper and Celina has been bountiful these past 10 years, and Gunter/Van Alstyne had a surge in the late 90's but has since stalled. I think the best real estate prices are going to be around Gunter.

We live in the Aubrey school district and love it. We are so happy with Monaco School in Providence.

Happy house hunting!

I am a REALTOR in this area and I'm here because I love the area. I grew up in far north Denton and played sports with girls from the surrounding area. I have friends and clients with homes in Pilot Point and Aubrey, and they are all pleased with them. I have heard good things about Gunter, but do not know anything first hand (or from immediate friends).

There are some neat neighborhoods off 380, but most of those are on small lots, and probably not what you are looking for since you mentioned 3-10 acres. The good thing is you can still get acreage for a reasonable price in these areas. If you are not working with an agent, I would love to assist you and your family in finding your new home. Please feel free to give me a call!

Sincerely,
K. M.
