We're getting ready to move out of the country and realize that it won't be possible to take our pets! Our dog is 7 years old and has epilepsy (on meds), but is so good with our 2 year old. She loves people and long walks. Plus we have a very friendly cat. What do we do?

What can I do next?

I believe that you can take your animals with you so long as you get a vet to sign off their health.
Call around and ask your vet about what documentation you need to take them with you. I couldn't imagine leaving behind my pets since they're family to all of us.

good luck!

Where are you moving to in Europe? You can usually take your pets to most countries if you fill out the proper paperwork and complete the required blood test and have microchips implanted. We did this with our dogs when moving to Sweden.

I would love to help out by taking the kitty if it comes down to the wire and you need a great home for him/her. Can I have a little bit more info about the kitty? I have a 23 month old little boy that would love to adopt a kitty.

I would try contacting local rescue organizations. If you have a full bred dog there are usually rescues geared just to those, but there are also cat rescues and other rescues for mixed breed dogs.
