Moving and Daycares

We are moving in about 30 days. I am planning to leave my son in his current daycare for at least a month after the move (through Aug). But our second child is due at the end of October and I'm wondering if I should leave him in the current daycare until the baby is born and then start the new daycare after my maternity leave? I know these are three huge changes for him and I don't want to overwhelm him. He is just over 3.

Has anyone been through this before?

What can I do next?

I would move him now if you can. We have had to change daycares in the past (and not by our choice, we are doing it again next week) and it is NOT easy on the child. Our daughter had many sleepless nights and loss of appetite after her past move. I think it will be best for your son (and you) if he has time to adjust before his world is turned upside down with a new baby in the house. We are in similar situations. Our daughter is 2 and about to start a new center and I am due with our 2nd child in October, so this situation is all too real for me. Good luck!

Well with having the baby coming,I would move him first, so he has time to adjust and possibly see others with siblings... then u will also have some "back up" with the "oh someone new is taking mommy syndrome"... good luck

I would move him to the new daycare first that way he can get use to one new thing at a time instead of having to get use to a new baby and a new daycare at the same time.

i would move him before you have the new baby so he has time to get use to the new daycare befor you bring a new baby in where are you moving from and where are you moving to have you checked out any daycare yet are you looking for in home with a mom type daycare or a daycare

Hi N.,

Do you already have a new daycare set up for when you move? Where are you moving too? I have a small in home licensed daycare in White Lake.

I would move him first so he can adjust to the new daycare before the new baby is born.
