My 5year old and I will be moving to the area in July/August for a job change. Being a single mom, I am on a very tight budget and can use some guidance on safe/friendly and affordable living options within a 10mile radius of 33309. We do not want to live in an apartment building. Any help would be most appreciated. M.

M.,

Hi there! I use to live in that zip code. There is a small area called Palm Aire. It is close to I-95, close to decent schools and shopping, restaurants, banks and alot of things. Do a zillow search or google it. I know that there are a lot of townhomes in that area that is what I use to live in and my ex-husband still does. It is a decent neighborhood.

Good luck.

Hi M.,

I live in Tamarac, 33321 right on the border of tamarac and Coral Springs. There are a number of homes for rent in our Community Westwood 5. A handful of owners are renting their homes to avoid foreclosure.

Tamarac elementary schools are "A" schools. My little one goes to a Seton Ridge Catholic Pre-school (Coral Springs) and I have nothing but good things to say about them. It's a single family home community. We have owned in this community for 2 1/2 years and have expeirenced a quiet and clean neighborhod and friendly neighbors.

Feel free to email me if you want additional info on the neighborhood.

Dear M.,

when you move to s fla. Will you be working for a company or work from home? Make sure the public schools are a rated for your child to attend.

Maybe rent a house or townhouse!

I'm not sure where you are moving from, or your familiarity with the area, but Coconut Creek & Coral Springs are nice areas and generally have good schools no matter where in the cities you live. Fort Lauderdale/Pompano Beach can really be hit or miss as far as schools, the boundaries are really weird as far as schools go.

Here is the website for the browed county school district

Personally I would start with a school I liked then, try to find a nice townhouse in the area. Let us know if there is somewhere specific you are thinking of and maybe we can give you a better yes or no...
