Hi,

Has anyone taken their kids to a "Moms and Moivies" showing? My 19 month old daughter is obsessed with the Barnyard commercials. Just wondering if it's worth attemting a showing.

My 2 1/2 yr old son loves cars, and got super excited
watching the commercials for the movie Cars. We have never taken him to a movie (except when he was little enough to sleep through our picks) and we decided that this would be the right first movie. It wasn't. We had to get there a bit early to get good seats. The previews were 20 min long and he was bord already. My fiance and I had to take turns leaving the theater with him off and on when he didn't want to be in there. And every few min my son kept saying "I want to go home"
We watched about 3/4 of the movie when we left.

If you do take your daughter get there when the previews are almost over, so she can start enjoying the movie when you sit down.

We took our 31/2 year old to Barnyard and she really enjoyed it. We went to a small theater durring the day so it was mostly moms and kids. Our daughter got up a couple of times, once to go to the bathroom. Be prepared for interuptions or to leave if neccesary. Best of luck.

Hello,

I just took my 4yr old to see Barnyard a couple days ago. She loved it, and I thought it was pretty good too.

It was a cute movie. I loved it, my 9 yr old loved it, my 2.5 yr old likied it, but didn't want to sit still. But, it's worth the showing.

We took my son to one of these movies and he was bored silly. He was crawling on the sticky floor of the theater - it was almost impossible to watch the movie. But, I suppose it depends on the temperment of your child. Also the movie we saw was so loud that I was worried it would hurt his hearing. It might be better to wait until your little girl is a bit older.

Hi there! I've taken my soon to be 2 and 3 year olds to see Shrek 2 and it was a bit long for them to pay attention to the whole time. If you go I suggest bringing plenty of snacks and drinks and some toys. My son, who was 22 months at the time of the showing, was up and about almost the whole time. Luckily, Grandma brought a toy car and he played with that on the seats and was able to prevent whining and lots of noise making. My daughter who was 32 months at the time was good almost the whole way through but then got a bit ancy at the end. Just realize that kids will be kids and they will get a bit noisy and active and you can leave at any time, no big deal. Have fun! We did!

I went to a few Mom & Movie movies with my daughter when I was staying home with her. It was nice in that if any child made noise, needed a diaper change, want to eat, wanted to run/walk back and forth at the back of the movie, no one cared. Except the one time that some business men attended the movie. They didn't know what happened to them.

I did think they were still very loud, even though they say it is turned down from the regular movies.
