I had the same festation. I found out that mine came from a bag of bird food. I was totally discussed, because the larva looked like magnets on the wall and ceiling. I also planted several moth balls all over the house until they were gone.
I have been seeing moths in my kitchen for about a week now. I don't know where they are coming from and I wanted to see if anyone can give me tips on how to get rid of them. I've been seeing them in my kitchen cabinets. Thanks.

I had the same problem~
I ignored a few moths for a few months and I regretted not doing something sooner. I thought they were harmless but it became an infestation. In June I came home from a week vacation to find them everywhere including ugly larvae on the walls of my pantry. An exterminator said it would take 3 months and $450 to get rid of them. I decided to look online to try to get rid of them on my own. I don't have cabinets so I threw out all items in my pantry except canned goods and inspected & cleaned everything thoroughly. I found all kinds of moths in different stages. Creepy! Then I bought several moth traps~dont put them too close together, they confuse the moths. Next I put all my spices in tupperware and tied up any new food purchases including dog food in clear plastic bags. We have to be vigilant and keep all open stuff like cereal, sugar, flour, bread and dog food in cannisters or tupperware with tight lids. Good luck!
I have been battling these things for months, and months. it seems like forever. Whenever it seems they have gone, they are back. it is hard to completely get rid of them but I would completely clean out your cabinets and any pantry space you might have. If you have any open flour (not in an airtight container) then sift it. Rice, flour, cornmeal all can carry them. Also they will go for any types of grain which means crackers, cereal, pasta, cake mix etc. I have to keep the baby's cereal in the fridge and I refuse to put anything like I mentioned in the pantry because of these little buggers. When I buy flour or other products, I only buy from busy stores like Jewel and I totally check rice bags to make sure I don't see anything there. Clear the cabinets, spray them down with a household bug killer, and then wash with hot water. Make sure you get all corner and dark spots. I bought Lock and Store containers and plan to get more because they seem to have the best seal against these things. They sell them at Target and on QVC. Also, put bay leaves in the cabinets. This seems to kepp them out of there.
