Mothers Day Token That I Can Involve the Kids On

I have a lot of lovely moms in my life. MIL, sister, babysitter, neighbors. I need ideas for a little inexpensive gift I can get or make for each of them. We usually make them cakes, or cheesecakes, but that's expensive and time consuming. Sometimes I will pick up the $5 flowers at the grocery store or make cupcakes but that's been done. What else can we do that's practically free that will give a smile to the mammas in my life? I thought about boxes of chocolate, but doubt I will find anything edible for $3. Or maybe small pot plants or flowering cactus. Maybe letting my kids fingerpaint the pots? I thought about making picture frames but I don't have pictures of my neighbors. If all else fails, I think we'll do the cupcakes but I'm hoping for inspiration this morning.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I'm leaning now toward Baklava. I can make a big batch and cut it in pretty trangles and package in pretty boxes fromt he dollar store with tissue paper. That would be nice, right?

You can get tiles at home depot for $.50 and put a verse from Proverbs 31 on it. "her children will rise up and call her blessed"
I can't remember the number, but you can google it to get specifics. It's a great way to bless another mom. They can use it as a trivet or hang it. You can put the little felt stickers behind it, so it won't scratch tables or hot glue ribbon on back to hang.

my daughter painted me a pot last year at daycare and I love it. I think that's a great idea.

Your potted plants idea is good....& those 6 packs of bedding flowers are cheap! Handpainted pots made great gifts

My daycare kids made flowers from cupcake liners. I used regular sized liners for the back layer, with a heart-decorated patterned liner cut just a little smaller for the next layer. Then we added a white mini liner for the inside of the flower. We used tacky glue to hold the 3 layers together. During naptime, I used hotglue to attach a green chenille stem. I left the stems long....so that I could wrap a couple of them around to hold the bouquet together. The kids tied a ribbon around the bouquet & we were DONE! Cuter than cute.....& even the 18mo boys were able to smooth out those liners!
