Mothers Day Ideas???

Wal Mart has platters that you can decorate and then place in the oven to cure the paint. Decorate with hand prints, sweet messages, paintings, etc...

My mother loved the cement stepping stones the grandkids made for her 2 years in a row.. We had them put a hand print on one and a foot print on the other..We wrote the date and we even let the kids stick marbles, sea shells and some milagros on them.. You can purchase the kits at craft stores.. But do them now so they can cure (dry).. Or you can have the kids make them in front of your mom on the actual day..

The best thing that my grandchild could give me is something that he made with his own hands. The more "original" the better, so no kits. If your children are older, a poem or letter to grandma is extra-special. Of course, pictures, pictures, pictures!

Oh! Another extra special idea: a video of the children with reading a poem or letter just for their grandma - loaded into a loop-video picture frame!

We've done a few things. The first is instead of the kids making something, take pictures (or pull up the recent ones) and have a mug made. We just did this for "Great Grandma". The more recent pictures were selected and I went through Snapfish.com to have the mug made. It was here fast!

Another idea, that we do in our family for Mother's day the year the child is in kindergarten is to get some modeling clay, roll it out some and make a hand impression of the child. I guess it was something that I did in Kindergarten as a class project and my mom loved it so we did it at the same age for my brother. Once my oldest was in Kindergarten, we did the same thing on Mother's Day. Next Mother's day I'll make one of my 2nd child.

It's really neat to see how little your hand was at that age and to be able to compare them to others at the same age.
