I had my daughter make those stepping stones the one year with the cement and jewels and her handprint. You can get the kits at any craft store for a pretty decent price. Her grandparents loved them!
Last year my daughter painted small pots and planted flowers for her Grandmothers, Aunts and Godmother. I am looking for a new, creative and inexpensive gift for her to give this year. Any ideas or suggestions?? Thanks!!

last year we did magazine flowers. use pipe cleaners, magazine pages and buttons. cut the pages into strips then use a paper punch to put 3 holes in the strip one on each end and one in the middle. use about 5-8 strips to make the flower. put pipe cleaner into middle hole and fold strip over so the pipe cleaner goes through the end holes too. after you have your "petals" done put the pipe cleaner through a button hole and back down through the petals then twist it around the stem and you have a flower. we made them for grandmothers and great grandmothers. i made big ones for kids, medium for grandchildren and small for great grandchildren so that each mother had a different looking bouquet based on the # of children and grand children she had. then i got cheap vases at goodwill and presented them tot he moms. they all still have them displayed :)

I have used stepping stones from Micheals as Mother's Day gifts. It's a personal touch when they put their hand prints in the mold. A framed picture of your daughter is nice too!
how about a picture in picture frame or scrapbooking certain pictures in a small album
This might be more than you want to spend.. but what about a Grandma Charm for a necklace?
check out www.stelladot.com/melissamerz and search for Grandma Charm.
You can type in M. Merz as the hostess for discounted shipping.
picture in a frame of your daughter, have your daughter paint them each a picture or depending on how old she is have her write something to them about how much they mean to her.
We usually do more for Christmas, but we'll go to Walmart or a hobby store, get $1.50 acrylic picture frames w/magnetic backs, paint their name and date on it, mount a favorite picture from that year on some cute scrapbook paper and give as a gift for all the family members since we live several hundred miles away.
We've also gotten cheap blank canvases from school supply stores, had the kids do their handprints in paint and attach a picture, a border, and some string for the grandparents to hang.
This year, my husband went to a bead store and made bracelets with the kids names and some of their favorite things (lady bugs for our daughter, trains/planes for our son) - he gave them to me early because our 3.5 year old son doesn't know how to keep surprises.
Good luck! I'm sure you'll get some great responses.
Get some washable paint and cover your daughter's feet. With her feet, have her spell out the letters LOVE or LAUGH - either altogether on a canvas or one letter per sheet and put them together in a frame.
I did 2 crafty things w/ my kids for mother's day this year for the same ppl.
1. let her pick a colored 8x10 paper out (i have scrapbook paper) and then wrote really big on the front Happy Mother's Day, and then i let them go crazy doing what ever they want to do on the inside. My 4 1/2 yr. old drew a picture of herself and then i also have many stamps. I let her decorate it any way she wanted.
2. The other thing i did was at our hobby store we got plaster magnets that came w/ the pain to paint them. it doesn't take long, and they get to "create" them. and they are magnets, so when they go to visit the family, then can see them.
just go to the craft/hobby store and follow your instincts. have fun! i hope this helped somehow!
I had found a cute poem last year on a classroom activity website.
My dirty little fingerprints I’ve left on every wall
And on the drawers and tabletops, I’ve really marked them all
But here are some that won’t rub off, I’m giving them to you
Because I’m thankful to have a mom that’s just like you!
(change "mom" to whatever word is appropriate - Nana, Grandma, etc)
I think they may have put it on a card, but I used it on a picture frame. Michael's had a white picture frame on sale that had a little vase attached with a silk daisy in it. I copied the poem and decopaged it to the frame. Then I took different colored stamp pads and had my kids stamp finger prints onto the frame. After everything dried, I spray varnished the frame (protected the glass, vase and flower) then put in a picture of the grandkids and gave them to the grandmas. They loved them.
How about getting some artificial flowers and the green tape that florist use and ink pens. Using the tape attach the flower to the pens, put them in a vase with pepermints or colored rocks, something pretty. They can have the vase by the phone and always have a pen handy.
Hi, MB,
Do the same with small picture frames -- have her paint them or even personalize with names -- great for those school pictures or holiday or vacation shots.
Enjoy!

Michael's has small wood birdhouse (decoration only) with a rope loop on top for $1. Have her paint one for each grandma and include the small balck metal shepard hook so they can display it in their garden/flower bed. Make sure she signs and dates the bottom. I am in the process of doing this and then I will spray them with exterior polyurethane to protect them against the elements.
