Is there a friendly kid restaurant you can recommend for mother's day?

I'm curious to hear more suggestions too! For breakfast/brunchy stuff Curio Cafe on Lawndale & Roscoe is nice and really kid friendly. They even have a kid section with a toy exchange, a huge blackboard, and tiny table & chairs for kids to play on.

Looking forward to hearing other replies as well.

We have gone to Cafe Iberico - Spanish Tapas in the city on LaSalle just south of Chicago Ave. In the evenings and weekends its crazy busy and very crowded, but on Saturday/Sunday mid-day its' very much a family atmosphere with large Spanish families gathering as well as lots of kids. I felt VERY comfortable there with my daughter. The bus boy never tired of bringing her a new spoon to bang on the table as she dropped yet another spoon. I never asked for subsequent spoons, he would just keep picking them up and bringing new ones! :) I would just make sure you scoot out of there by 6PM on a Sat or 7PM on a Sun.

Lalo's Mexican Restaurant is a great family restaurant. They have a great kids menu and the staff respond well to the kids. Although Mother's Day is a very busy day for them - but I guess that would be the case everywhere... I hope this helps!

I don't know if these are good suggestions for Mother's Day, but:
-Brio in Lombard (Yorktown Mall)is more kid friendly then I thought in would be. For a couple of bucks more your child can and go into the kitchen and make their own pizza.
You know a restaurant is good when a 7-yr old wants to go there for their birthday. It is a little pricey, though.
-Claim Jumper (same area as Brio)is also family friendly and a little easier on the wallet.
-Anywhere that has a buffet/brunch is usually a good bet.
One year we went to the William Tell Holiday Inn.

Happy Mother's Day! Hope you had a great one no matter what you do.

It's not a kid restaurant, but the Applebees by our house is always great with our 2 little ones. They give out balloons to our older girl sometimes and the waitresses are always very patient with us. :) I don't know if they're all like that, but we like going there. Red Lobster has always been good with our girls, too.

Hope that helps.

While not a restaurant suggestion, I know what I'm doing and would like to suggest it to you. Y-Me is having a walk in Grant Park to raise funds for breast cancer victims on Mother's Day. After the walk, we are going to picnic at the lake. This is a great way to spend the day! Getting fresh air, supporting a cause, and spending quality time with the family!
