Zofran.
I had it every day of both my pregnancies. It didn't go away for me until the babies were born. Zofran helped me function.
Hello Mama's,
I am Pregnant with my second child, my son is about 3.5, when i was prego with him i was sick until about 7 months pregnant. Then some foods would still make me ralf. So i am like 9 weeks with our second and the sickness has already started for me. I am living off of saltine crackers and water/juices. Its so bad in the morning that when I wake up for work around 6am, i have to start eating saltines immediatley. any sugesstions to beat the morning sickness?
Zofran.
I had it every day of both my pregnancies. It didn't go away for me until the babies were born. Zofran helped me function.
This is me. All three pregnancies, all nine months.
Get a prescription for Zofran (Odansetron is the generic), I take it twice a day. Phinagrin will help too (I prefer Zofran), but it is a sedative, so it is good for weekends or when someone can care for your other child. Sea bands that puts pressure on the pressure point helped me as well. They hurt at first, but you get used to them. You can get them at CVS/Walgreens. Vitamin B6 is also supposed to help.
Put some cheese or peanut butter on those saltines. Seriously, have a jar of peanut butter with a knife on your bedstand. Eating a protein with the carbs is what helps expend your energy. Only drink small sips of liquid at a time. That's hardest for me, b/c I love to drink a lot of fluids, but my body won't let me.
My husband often makes me a chicken breakfast taquito and it helps before I get out of bed. It usually comes up, but at least I have a smidge of energy.
I live off of popsicles, jello, smoothies, bread and butter, nutella or peanut butter or cheese melted on toast, corn, baked beans. I eat fruits/veggies/protein when I can. I tale my prenatal vitamin every night. I am not a big soda drinker, but during my pregnancy I take sips of Dr. Pepper b/c it helps for some reason. Ruby Red Grapefruit juice helps, amazingly. I have a rule that every time I throw up, I go and get something to eat to replace what just went down the toilet. Really though, the Zofran makes a huge difference. I still feel a little queasy, but I am able to function more. It may be easier for you to snack all day long, than to eat big meals.
There are other natural remedies, like ginger, ginger pregnancy gum, preggie pops... none of those work for me.
The only thing that made it tolerable for me was sea bands. They are pressure point bracelets that you can by at any pharmacy. I was nauseated from a week before I found out until 30 weeks and those bands at least kept me going. I didn't find out about them though until week 17 :( Good luck. Also I have heard great things about preggie pops. I think that's what they are called. They are lollipops in different flavors that are suppose to help morning sickness.
My best friend was like this, and I am sorry you have to go through it. Her doctor recommended gummy prenatal vitamins over the regular pills, and also ginger snaps. Ginger has a stomach settling property, so you can drink or eat anything with ginger and it should help.
I'm battling it now, too. I've found the best way to keep it at bay is to never let my stomach get completely empty, and to keep protein in it.
Eggs are my best friend right now. Eggs, beans, red meat, cheese, etc. I've even purchased some Special K protein meal bars (~170 calories, not a meal in my opinion, but more than a snack for most) and shakes for the in-between times. I figured Special K might have lower sugar/fat than some others.
I had morning sickness from 9 weeks until 2 days after my baby girl was born. I found that vitamin B6 and 1/2 Unisom taken at night helped me through the worst of it in the morning. I tried everything and nothing else worked as well as this combo. It was a lifesaver for me- ask your doctor about it.
I just came back from the doctor and she recommended vitamin B6 to help ease my morning sickness. She said 25 mg every 8 hours. I haven't tried it yet, but worth a shot!
Hope you feel better soon!
I drank somthing carbinated first thing in the morning (club soda or ginger ale works fine). I also never let myself get completely hungery or all the way full, small snacks all day. Stay away from fried foods. And if you haven't yet, see your dentist and get sealent on back teeth, morning sickness can destoy your molars even if you are not throwing up.
My doctor switched my prenatal vitamins to one with less iron and more B vitamins. It helped! Also, I took my vitamins at night, which made a difference as well. My sister in law swore by raspberry tea, but that didn't really help me. My boss said that slices of raw or pickled ginger (sucking on them) helped her. I didn't notice much difference personally - but you may try those things, too! Who knows, it might help!
Good luck. I'm sorry you're sick. :(
Plain popcorn , coke slurpees used to help me also peppermint candy and ginger is supposed to have that soothing/calming effect but I couldn't stand it. There are also peggie pops different flavored lollipops that are supposed to also help. I used to keep a small container of cheerios next to my bed so before I even got out of bed I would take my time eating them. I also took benadryl & unisom before bed that helped. Good luck! Hope you can find some relief.
