Hi,
Does anyone send their kids to a Montessori school? If yes, what are your thoughts and experience on their teaching method vs reqular? Does anyone have a recommendation a good Montessori schools in our neck of the woods? Thank you!

I can't give you personal advise but I know of Montessori schools in Fort Laud and Aventura and have heard great things about them. They let the kids learn at their own pace.
Good luck!
The Montessori method is a great teaching avenue but not all schools are alike. The method itself is great; the founding lady Martha Montessori (died in 1952) was truly ahead of her time and most kids benefit greatly from the relaxed and more focused environment. The kids are allowed to pick activities and are given the opportunity to "work" with that project undisturbed or pushed by teachers. The teachers are more like "facilitators" to help a child discover a toy or task purpose on their own and when they do, to work on it for as long as they like. They will do presentations on how to complete a task, e.g. how something works, but the whole point is to let the child work on his/her own to figure things out. I use this method at home now with my daughter who is almost two and the difference versus conventional teaching is huge.
I do not know much, also very interested. Please forward me your responses or if I can figure out how to look them I will. Still learning this sight. Thanks
Hi T.,
One of my very close friends has her 3 children in a Montessori school in Davie. She really likes how they work and so do her children. She feels they have truly learned in that environment instead of being in an overcrowded classroom. Depending on where you live, there are some decent public schools, but some of the schools down here need some serious improvement.
My son is still a baby so I don't have to worry about school just yet.
Hope this helped a little.
