Does anyone have any experience with or knowledge of Montessori schools in Fort Lauderdale? We live up near Commerical/US-1 and Davie is just too far for us. We are starting our research early:)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you thank you thank you. I will check into all the suggestions. We were looking at Little Flower for the fall, I understand there is a Kindermusic program for 18 month olds. It'd be a great way to check out the program. Thanks a bunch!

If you want to wait until he's three, he can go to Virgina Shuman Young Elementary off of Broward Blvd.

That's where I'm going to send my son.

I have worked there on occasion and I really liked the program.

Hi! There is a brand new Montessori school in Victoria Park that my 3.5 year old son went to. He had been home with me exclusively and then ____@____.com was such an easy transition for all of us. He never even cried the first day as he felt so comfortable! We all loved it as EVERYONE there is fantastic! My son just switched to Sumitt-Questa Montessori in Davie (you mentioned that was too far) as he was the oldest as they haven't expanded yet. It would be perfect for Max. They are loving, caring and attentive in a homey atmosphere. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me.

Yes! I have two that we have used. Maria's House (I'm assuming named for the founder of Montessori) is on A1A just north of 14th Street - north Pompano. I recommend it so highly even though it is a bit far from you. I can't say enough wonderful things about it. The teachers are so loving and positive. The children LOVE it there. The classroom is large, inviting and clean! The teachers are native English speakers (which is hard to find) and well-educated. The playground is cute and fun, with shade and grass.

If you're truly set on something a bit closer, there is The Green Children's House on 1st Street (the first street north of Atlantic Blvd.) between US1 and Dixie. It is organic and the couple that runs it is absolutely fabulous. Very well-educated and a wonderful mix of kids. They are separated by age groups. The playground is so fabulous - they totally redid it. The security is top-notch - you can even log on with your personal code (very safe) and view the classrooms in real time.

Hope this helps!

I checked out Woodlands Montessori in Tamarac (off McNab, east of University) and I liked it.
Good Luck,
