I've used both and can't tell the difference. Save yourself some money.
I have always used the Monistat 7 day for yeast infections. I was wondering if a generic brand works the same. Started the symptoms a day ago from antibiotics. Should I buy the brand name, or do the generics work the same? Just wondering.

Can you call your doc and get a script for diflucan?? Works wonders and is just 1 pill :)
I have never compared those specifically, but generally the generic is the exact same as the brand name. The brand name costs more due to advertising and with some Rx drugs, due to research. Just compare the names and strengths of the active ingredients. If they are the same it should work the same.
I asked my doctor that one time, and she said the generics are exactly the same. You can save a lot of money using the store brand and get the same results.
I used to get yeast infections all the time. My doctor said that generic is just as good, but you have to use the 7 day because the 3 day and 1 day are just not as effective. If that doesn't cure it, your doctor can prescribe you a stronger kind.
My mom was a pharmacy tech and she said that all generic medications are the same thing (as long as the medication names are the same as what's on the name brand-they will have it on there in the ingredients if nowhere else). And I just used the equate generic of the one day a few weeks ago and it worked.
