There are tons of websites autisimspeaks.org--easterseals.com --- just put autisim in google and lots of info will come up.

One thing to watch is his diet. No yorgert or MSG Both can make him act out and become violent and have meltdowns. Their is a diet for autistics. It is not easy to follow becase it recommends that you take all dairy and gluten out of his diet but sometimes it works to use a modified version of this diet it all depends upon the child.

Take heart it's not a dire as it seems. Bill Gates--Donald Trump amd Dan Ackroyd all have Aspergers Syndrom and Ackroyd also has Tourettes.

Hi, L. V.
You have received many helpful suggestions to
deal with the challenges that you are facing with your son.

Just remember: This is a label. It is given to treat this child
differently from those children who learn easily and quickly, which may
result in his being discriminated against.

Be aware of his gifts and support him with his challenges. Get
to know your son as a child, youth, and adult as he grows and
matures. Treat him always with love and affection.

Just a thought.

If he's on the spectrum than he probably has a Sensory Processing Disorder. A great book for that is "The Out of Sync Child". For Autism "1001 Great Ideas for Teaching & Raising Children with Autism or Asperger's". The library has a lot of material you can find useful. My girlfriend's son is Autistic and she has him on a no gluten/dairy diet. It's been a couple of years and she claims it has helped him a lot. There is tons of resources available, just ask, ask, ask and you will find useful information. Wishing you all the best. Bernie

This little boy has had success with the ipad and ABA.

Remember that all autistic children are different, and what may work for one child (diet, technology, techniques) may not work for another. Keep at it until you find out what works for your child. Good luck! Don't give up.
