One thing you can do is, armed with your diagnosis, apply to your county assistance office for Medicaid/Access for your daughter. Having such a diagnosis, you will receive benefits regardless of your income. Even if you have more than enough funds of your own, you will open up programs that would be closed to you. Additionally, once she gets into school, the school district will be able to tap into funds to help with the cost of the additional help she will need to succeed in school. We were told to do this, and it has been a great help to both us and the schools, who have been wonderful. Our son has been kept in the regular curiculum (IE, no "special ed"), with personal aids and programs to help his succeed. AS children are typically very intellegent and just need assistance to help with the focus, social and physical therapy issues that present. Don't worry, she'll likely be fine, but get that federal assistance.
