Moms Who Know Facebook Well

Hi:

So someone I am friends with on facebook has been pasting very strong political stuff. I was sort of surprised as I had no idea she felt so strongly about these issues. I have been hiding the posts because I am not interested. I accidentally clicked on Report Spam instead of Hide. Now I am worried that I have hurt her. I do not agree with what she is posting, but I would never intentionally try to reply about it in this way or any other way, especially on facebook. My question is, does she now who reported her post as spam?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks mamas! I really appreciate the information....

I don't think so...and FB will make the final determination if they agree with report. I wouldn't worry about, I've done the same thing and nothing ever came of it.

No, she won't find out who reported it as spam. I would have hidden her posts too, it's so annoying.

If you accidentally click "Report Spam," there is also an option to "Undo" the report. I don't know how long that option lasts. The only times I've used it, I've clicked "Undo" right away.

Great question. I may do that. It is so irritating to have this stuff crammed down your throat!

No she won't know it was you.

And don't feel bad...nobody likes the political nonsense ALL the time! Ugh! I actually had to un-friend my BFF's husband because he is just so radical and 'in your face' so to speak about it all...talk about annoying!

She will get a little message that something she posted was reported as spam. My hubby did that to me the other day. No big deal.

Heck... I'm not sure Facebook will do anything about it... I've reported (everyday for a month) illegal drug use my nephew has a boat load of pot on his cover page or the new Timeline, I click on "report" then "illegal drug use" and nothing... he even has a video on there of him smoking it with his friends and I've reported that over & over but still nothing....

Hey I accidently hit "REPORT THIS" instead of "SEND A FLOWER" here once. I felt bad. I dont think they ever know who it was.
