Are there any moms who go to thearpy?
Does it help with depression and Anxiety?

My mom seems to thing that me going to thearpy will help with my anxiety and lack of patience and help me think through things.

Lately I am so up tight and so stressed out and don't have patience for anything.
I had a trouble childhood and now find feelings from past are starting to surface as I am getting older.
I never really delt with my childhood. Just covered it up and stayed strong.

I am really wanting a good thearpist in Frisco Allen Mckinney area.... Someone I can confid in! Someone who can help me figure out a way to over come some personal things.

If any of you ladies have suggestions for a great afforordable thearpist please let me know!

What can I do next?

I highly recommend CCA in McKinney: http://www.ccanorthtexas.com/ DH and I saw Paul Shearer there after our miscarriage and he was a GREAT help. If it's you alone dealing with childhood issues, you might be more comfortable with a female. I've done group workshops with Suzie Hales there, who is FANTASTIC, but hard to get in with. However, I'm sure anyone in the group would be great, you could just call and ask who's available, or if you're comfortable giving a little information to the receptionist about what you're dealing with, she can help steer you in the right direction. Kudos to you for being proactive about dealing with stuff! I think it will be a great help! GL!

PS they take health insurance and process it for you, so in spite of the prices listed, we just pay our regular doctor copay. if you're not insured, be sure to ask them about negotiating a lower price, since I know what our insurance pays them is less than half of their advertised prices!

I would actually suggest a program like this. http://www.watermark.org/ministries/care/celebrate-recovery/

Celebrate Recovery is a program churches adopt. So there may even be one closer to your home. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND it.

Hi N.,
I'm sorry I don't have a name for you but I do want you to know that there are lots of Mom's in therapy! I believe just about everyone will need a little help at sometime in their lives. With all you described it sounds like a great idea to me for you, and I absolutely think it could help you. Also, I want you to pay attention to when you are impatient and anxious. Is it all the time, or just during the two weeks before your periods. I'm trying to rule out PMS. There is medication that can help with PMS if that is a contributing factor, but certainly working out childhood issues would help you to be a better mom. If you don't get a recommendation you like the sounds of then check religious centers that could refer you.
It's great that you are ready to work these things out. Taking care of yourself goes a long way in helping your kids.
All My Best,
P.
