I was wondering if any moms out there know of a great place that would watch my kids for 5 hours once a week. I know most day cares want you to take them there twice a week and for full days. I have also heard of momma coops where a group of moms swap there kids on different days?? Anybody heard of this or is involved in something like that ? I live in Draper and would prefer something close by or even in Sandy but definitely not south of me. Thanks for any info in advance or any suggestions. I work one day a week where my shift starts mid day and my husband is not available until around 530. Also, my kids are 3 and 1.
thanks,
M.

try your local parks/rec center and see what they offer.

Try a Mother's Day Out, ask around with other moms usually churches have them. Or see if you can find a woman to watch your child in their home.

MDO is a great option, but they are usually over in the mid afteroon so that might not work for you. I think you'll have to find a babysitter or at least maybe do a combo of a MDO program for the day and a HS student or sitter to pick them up and keep them at your house until your husband comes home.

You might see if there are any Mothers-Day-Out programs in your area. In our area the Methodist church has them. Some are 2 days a week and half day and some are 3 days a week for about 5 hours. They are very good here in this area.

Otherwise you might just try to find a babysitter that will come to your house for those hours and pay them a few dollars per hour. If it is in your home they fall under babysitting and if they work more than X amount of hours they are considered a nanny and fall under Nanny laws. If you take the kids to their house it falls under child care regulations.

It sounds like, to me, that you might be best served by just having the babysitter come to your house for those few hours.

I would see about co-ops - that is what I do with my daughter. I found a few options on Craig's list. Just make sure you meet up a few times before trusting someone with your kids
