We are going to become foster parents in a few months and I don't have anything for a baby. LOL Any ideas on thrift/consignment/resale shops in the Frisco area? I'm willing to drive to surrounding cities. I'm trying to get a head start getting things together!
I made a list of all of the consignment shops you mentioned, and one day last week, we tried to visit ALL of them. I didn't buy a thing; I was just doing research so that when we are looking for something in the future (and maybe I have a restless baby in my crew), I will know which places are worth going to and which aren't. I wanted to update you because some of them are closed.
We visited Cutie Patootie Kids in Frisco. I thought their prices were good on swings, clothes, and baby carriers. I thought their cribs were higher end that I would want (in other words, I would not want to pay $250 for a crib, new OR used, thus I am shopping consignment!). We could not find Cute as a Button Kids in Frisco/Plano and the # was not in order. We also found that RockaBye Bay in Carrollton was not located on Hebron Parkway and the # was not in order. I assume these 2 are closed.
We visited Once Upon A child in Flower Mound and this was by far my favorite. There was a massive collection. I found things in my price range in every category...jogger strollers, regular stollers, tons of fisherprice toys, tons of exersaucers, etc. There were about 12 or 15 used cribs to choose from ranging from $60 - $250 and also some changing tables, glider rockers, and other furniture. There were clothes and TONS of great looking shoes and cleats! I will definitely shop here in the future!
We went to Kid to Kid in Highland Village and it was a nice store. I liked their prices on clothes especially. Seemed to be the best price out of all the stores on clothes. Their baby carriers were very nicely priced as were their toys. The selection was not as big on furniture and bassinets and things as Once Upon a Time, but it was a nice store and only a few minutes from OUaT.
Last we went to Baby Britches in Denton. I thought they had a good selection of clothing and some marked down. I thought the quality was not as good as the other stores (nor the selection) on accessories, toys, strollers, etc. It was 5:30 and closing time was at 6:00. The staff gave us the vibe that they were ready to lock the door any minute. Even my kids were like, "were they angry about something?" I probably will not return to this store.
I still did not visit the other Kid to Kid stores but they have a website and tons of Texas locations all over the metroplex. They have some new items like tons of hairbows for girls and a few new things I cannot remember. My fav was Once Upon at Time. If you are looking for something, I would try there first.

sorry can't remember the name, but near the Kroger at Teel & Main I went shopping at a consignment shop after a volleyball game in the area one day. Also Kid 2 Kid in Allen at McDermott & Custer & Cute as a button in PLano at Coit & 121.

there is a consignment store at hedgecoxe and ohio (near brooklyn's pizza) that has nice stuff - i believe it is called sugar & spice - also, if you pick-up one of those free small books at the entrance of almost all the baby stores (i believe it is called dfw kids) there is an entire page of consignment store - i have had good luck at the kid-to-kid at parker and midway - good luck! and congratulations!

There is a FABULOUS consignment sale called Divine Consign (www.divineconsign.net) that is coming up at the end of February. They have a sale in Grapevine and one in Plano. Check out their website for more information. I buy a lot of my kids clothes and toys there each year.
I've also heard of one called Three Sisters Consignment or something like that but I don't know much about it.

Check out Once Upon A Child in Flower Mound and Kid to Kid on Midway in Plano. They should be on the internet to find directions. They both have clothes from infants up to size 14 or 16 and their clothes are in good shape. They both also have other things for baby's. I have had good luck at both places.
I recently did a google search on the internet for "children's consignment sale dallas texas," and came up about 6-8 sales in the area. I love to shop these on the last, half-price day. The last time I did I came away with brand new w/tag clothes for my daughter for $2ea, get there early and bring a bag and a friend to watch the kids! Congratulations on adding to your family!
