Jennifer R Ward from Reavis&Ward is great. She is tough. Not sure of her number but her office is on Madison downtown.
I am new to the Chicago area. I am seeking a tough divorce attorney that will assist me with divorce and custody proceedings. I am looking for a "bulldog" so to speak, that will firmly defend my kids from my husband who abandoned our family 5 years ago,now demands custody of children, wants to move them to Texas to live with him and girlfriend that can not have children. This attorney should be experienced in negotiating payment of child support also.

That sucks and I am sorry you are going through it. I would suggest my attorney. Thankfully I didn't need a bulldog but wanted one just in case it went ugly. I do know he has what it takes because a friend of mine's mother used him a long time ago in her divorce. She ended up with custody of the kids (which were not here biologically) and the house and several other things. If this practice can get her custody when she isn't the biological mother I would say that is good. His name is Jack Provenzale and you can reach him at ###-###-####. His retainer is high ($5000) I think but if you are going to have a fight...he is worth it. Good luck and if I can do anything, please let me know.
You can try Maria Delia ###-###-#### - in Rosemont, IL. I used her & have recommended her to several people who have had success w/ her. Always feel like she's taking care of me & my daughter!
Best of luck!!
Call Don Schiller! He will get you to the right person within his firm -- which is the bEST. Call ###-###-#### and speak with Faye to schedule an appointment. Feel free to call me with any questions ###-###-####) I have been in brutal divorce.
I wrote to you privately and now I will publicly. I read what everyone else wrote after I wrote to you. You will need to feel comfortable with who you choose because that person will be taking "care" of you as well and you need to trust that person. Your ex should not be able to remove the children and if you have had them for 5 years, without him, that should be a pretty simple case in your favor unless there is something you are not saying. Most attorneys in a custody case will want a large retainer. There is a lot to do. It does not sound like this will really be custodoy but support and visitation negotiation if any. Do call around and see who you feel comfortable with. Nancy C. Murphy, family law attorney, Nancy C. Murphy & Associates, 111 North Wacker, Chicago 60602. OH, ALSO, YOU PROBABLY DO NOT WANT A 630 AREA CODE ATTORNEY UNLESS YOUR CASE IS IN DUPAGE. I practice in DuPage, Lake and Cook and am also a Collaborative attorney and a smart tough attorney as well! ###-###-#### Take Good Care.
Try Audrey Gaynor - I don't have her number but she's probably listed - she works downtown. She represented a friend of mine who has ongoing custody and suuport issues.
John D'Arco is a friend of my husband's and was very successful helping some of my husband's friends.
