My son is 6 and has only what they have diagnosed as a "tic disorder", only meaning that they have not been monitoring it for over a year to change the diagnosis to Tourettes yet.
I have a daughter who is 10 and has been diagnosed with Tourette's disorder. She is also ADHD. I would love to talk with another mom with a similar situation. Thanks!

I hope I am not too late in responding to you. I have a 15 yr old son and an 8 yr old daughter that was diagnosed with Tourette's at 6 yrs of age. Fortunately, she has a VERY mild case. She generally has very mild or non-existent tics that get worse with stress. There is a wonderful support group that meets the 1st Tues of the month, next meeting is on 9/2/08 at Doctors Hosp in the Community room at 7:00pm. The group is lead by C. Svenson, ###-###-####, a nurse practitioner who works with Dr. Michael Fox. They have a practice in Sarasota that specializes in Tourettes. They are both great! They also work with the other symptoms that accompany Tourettes. Hope this helps.
Hi C.,
I have a friend with an amazing son going into high school who has Tourettes syndrom. I'll ask her if she can contact you. He has acted in plays, and even written a published book!
take care,
L.
Hi !
I have a 13 year old son who has Tourettes, he also has ADD and General Anxiety. I have been looking for a support group here in Hillsbrough county so I could meet other parents and my son meet other kids with like disabilities but have come up empty. He goes to Ferrell Middle School and they still don't quite know how to handle him yet but are working on it. I am still learning how to handle him myself.
