safety first make one that dose warm air with out the burn go with warm
I've decided to purchase a humidifer for my son's room. Lately he has been fighting a cold and experiencing some wheezing and lots of coughing. He is getting much better and has even started eating again.
Can someone tell me if a warm air humidifer is better than cool air? I've read that cool air was better because a child can get burned and cool air humidifers were less exspensive because you don't have to pay for the heating unit inside of them. But, personally, I think that the cool air would make the cold worse?
any opinions?
Thanks

We prefer the regular warm mist vaporizers. For us, they just seem to work better.
the difference is that cool mists just make the air damp, warm mist makes the air damp warm and humid, the cool mist ones are not really for coughs and colds, just to remoisturise the air, the hot ones are for helping to clear the airways just as a warm shower would do.
if you are buying for therapeutic use then buy the warm one.
yes the child can burn if they touch the steam coming directly out of it, but you just keep it out of reach
cool is safer as the child cant get burned..
but hot kills the germs as it heats the water.
a cool humidifier will make the room feel cool..
a hot humidifer will make the room hot.
I personally like hot.
