Hi, J.! I don't know if you're willing to drive all th way to Woodbridge, but we use Nova Pediatrics here, and I specifically recommend Dr. Kathleen Hamilton at this practice. Hope all goes well!
I am looking for a new Pediatricain for my almost 4yr old daughter, has some health issues from her vaccines. Thanks
Nikki,
This was my response to another mom who asked about fevers w/vaccines--Thanks for all the advise on the Peds. Haymarket does not take my insurance, but I have heard so many good things about them!!
Yes!! I only say this because of my own experience, over the past 4yrs. I just realized that my little girl, has had some kind of reaction to her vaccines since she was 2mo old. About 10-12 days after she would run a high fever of (103-106)for about 3-5days with no other source. I did not put this together until recently, she had a severe flu shot reaction in Nov 2006 causing 4 days in ICU, 6 spinal taps, fluid on the brain, eye surgery, permanet vision loss etc.. Thankfully we she is one of the lucky vaccine injured children. She is doing good now, (but still undergoing treatment) I have done extensive research on this issue and the CDC just came out with saying the MMR and the chicken pox vaccine can cause seizures "but not life threatning" which we all know can be caused by high fevers, let me know if you would like more info-- I am not against the vaccines, I just think all children can't handle them when they are so young. And I was never aware of the severe things that could happen until it did. I alwasys thought this kind of stuff happened along time ago.

J.,
Dr. Takanti is off of 29 in Gainesville and she gives the most personalized special care for my lil one I have even heard of. she owns her own practice, does not overbook, and is very sweet and understanding of my desire to separate all of my sons shots out bc of my fear of autism. she calms my fears and is so good with my son! I highly recommend her!!

I take my daughter to Haymarket pediatric ###-###-####, I love them. It's a small practice w/two doctors. I am curious if you don't mind me asking what kind of complications does your daughter have from vaccines and from which vaccines?
I live in Bristow and go to Crestwood Pediatrics in Manassas (just down the street from Costco). I LOVE THEM!!! My daughter had MRSA when she was 23 months old. She was in the hospital for a week. I was very impressed with the way the doctors communicated her case to each other (there are 4 doctors int he practice although current I think there are only 3) - they all knew what was happening each day before they arrived on rounds. Dr. Abbott who is head of the practice was listed as on of the Top doctor's in Washingtonain magazine that year (2005). I've never had a problem with getting an appointment or felt like my concerns were not being addressed. Good luck! S.
Try Olde Town Pediatrics in Manassas. I love DR. Williams and I believe they just opened a sattalite office in Bristow.
J. - I absolutely love our pediatrician and he is in Haymarket off Rt. 55. His name is Dr. Edward Michel and can be reached at ###-###-####. Their address is 4424 Costello Way, Haymarket, VA 20169. They are in the Foster's building. He has one other doctor in the practice with him and she is fantastic too! They solved an issue with my daughter that my previous pediatrician could not. Enjoy!
