Hi, D.. Well, your daughter is going to get sick sometime or another. She may catch a cold from you, or she may get it just from breathing the air. It is very difficult to avoid spreading cold germs.
The way that most colds are spread from one person to another is by touching. People transfer the virus by shaking hands, hugging, even touching door knobs that other people have touched. You cannot avoid touching your daughter. The only thing you might be able to do is to keep your face away from her face. In other words, don't breathe or speak close to her face. I can't think of any other thing you could do to avoid exposing her to your cold.
You can also do things for your sore throat. There are products available that shorten the time that you have a cold such as Zicam. There are also zinc lozenges, which are like cough drops which you can suck on that relieve your sore throat and other cold symptoms; zinc actually fights the cold virus and keeps it from spreading inside your body, so that might help you keep from spreading it to your daughter. However, there are no guarantees. You can get different brands of zinc lozenges at places like Walmart or any drug store.
Well, I hope you feel better and that your daughter doesn't get a cold, too.
Peace,
Syl
