2 of my kids had them. The first time we tried 2 different creams, and neither worked. In fact, one cream just made his skin raw and didn't even help. The second we just waited it out. It took about a year the first time and 6 months round 2.

My daughter has it too, and has for a year or two. At first I was really concerned about it and went to the dr, who gave us a script for aldara cream. We used it for a while, and it worked on some of her spots, bit not others. We have also tried zymaderm. It can be bought online, and is all natural. Both products work about the same, but she has discolored spots where the aldara was used, whereas the places where we used the zymaderm healed much better. I am now just waiting for her to outgrow the 8 remaining spots, because I am tired of dealing with the problem. If I were you I would try the zymaderm first. Good luck!

Hi B.,
My brother had that years ago when he was little. Our pediatrician said no treatment was necessary and that it would go away on it's own. I can't remember exactly how long it took (a few months, maybe), but it did go away. He never had it again.

Hope that helps!

My middle son had these. Some had to be surgically removed by and opthamalogist because they were near his eye and were spreading. I think that beings surgically removed is rare though. Another one on his face was "plucked out" by a dermatologist."

My oldest son had some on his leg and they were spreading so the dermatologist put some medicine on them that causes them to ooze and the seed to come out. It didn't bother him at all and it took care of the problem.

It's been several years ago for both of them and they did not return, though I understand they are caused by a pox virus.

My youngest son has had no problems with molluscum.

We had it...we waited it out. If you do treatments the rash just keeps coming back until it's out of their system. My aunt had 4 kids all have it, she waited it out too. It takes months!! Hang in there.

Get him to a dermatologist right away! These will spread and it becomes a disaster! The bumps have to be removed they usually freeze them off.

Hi B.~
Both my kids have had this. My daughter I took to the doctor for treatment. It was awful- very painful for her. Even with treatment, it took nearly a year to clear up. When my son developed it, I decided not to take the same route. When the sores turn red, get a head & break open, they spread. So, I kept those ones covered with band-aids until they cleared. Sometimes I had to use the big square ones because he had so many. Also, I always used a fresh, clean towel to dry him off after his bath. This has worked so far. He had a much worse case than my daughter but his is clearing up faster. Good luck to you!

My youngest daughter had these for quite sometime. It really can take awhile for them to go away. She would scratch them periodically so then there would be more. Some got really bad so we had the doctor put a medicine on to remove them. The medicine itself doesn't hurt but it does make them blister up and that can hurt a little. As long as she wore comfy loose clothes, she was okay. Then those would be gone. We used the cream we were given and it worked okay but the in office treatment help is be rid of them.
