I have a 7month old also breastfeeding I've only had one good period at 3months other than that I've had none. But I also have an IUD
Blood test wouldn't hurt :) good luck
Hi Everyone!
My daughter is 9 months old and I am breastfeeding. My period returned when she was 6 months and was normal for 2 cycles. I am now over 10 days late and I have taken 4 negative pregnancy tests.
Has anyone had missed periods like this without being pregnant? I am trying to be patient and retest in a few days.
Thank you all for the good advice. I agree that I am sure it is due to breastfeeding and hormones. I am concerned however, because we did not use protection on a specific instance. I don't know about you all, but my sex drive decreased a lot when my little one was born so those moments have been unfortunately too few and far between, but either way we need to be more responsible.
I will look into the bloodtest just in case. Thanks again!

I have a 7.5 month old and at 4 months I had a period and again at 5.5 months I had one and have not since then...and there is no way I am preggers as hubby doesn't have any swimmers anymore :) Wacky cycles. I wouldn't worry too much but if you can't help but to worry I would go in and have a blood test.
yeah that's kinda normal when you first get your period back. I mean I'm not saying you couldn't be pregnant but if you have been using protection then I bet you are fine. After my first baby I had my first period right at the 12 month mark then another 2 weeks after that. then I didn't have another one for around 30 to 40 some days (i'm usually around a 28 day cycle) but after a few months they became closer together and back to a normal cycle. Then after my second I had a similar thing. I got my period back at 14 months after baby and again my periods were super stretched out...like around 36 days apart. So like I said it's normal and if you have been using protection and got negative test then you're probably just fine.
Breastfeeding = wacky cycles. I was (still am) the same way. My period returned at 5 months, but the next one was just a little spotting, then the next was really late, then more spotting, then skipped a month, then another regular period for two months and now going on a week late. I am not pregnant. If you have been intimate without protection, wait a week and retest. If it's still negative, then you're probably not preggo. I'm sorry that I cannot say how long it will take to re-regulate your cycles, as every time I think mine have gone back to normal they go wacky again. I am still breastfeeding at almost 14 months, supplemented with lots of solid foods at mealtimes. Maybe when my son weans completely they will be more regular???? I was not always regular before I got pregnant either, so I guess we'll see. Good luck to you!
You could get a blood test to confirm, and then just be reassured that sometimes cycles will skip, then come back with a vengeance the next month.
