I just had my second miscarriage in the last six months. I have an 18 month old girl who is very healthy and that pregnancy went well. I had two shots; one during my first pregnancy and one right after. Then after my first miscarriage I had another shot. I have not went in to get check for this miscarriage yet, but will soon. Both miscarriages happened at about 8 weeks. What's going on? Could it be the RH factor even though I've had my shots?

I would definately go in to your ob/gyn and discuss what has been happening. The Rh factor could play into what is happening but there are many other things that could also be contributing to your miscarriages. Sorry to hear about your losses. Keep your head up and keep trying!
My friend had the same thing happen. She was tested for a blood clotting factor and had it. They said blood clots were probably forming in the placenta causing the baby to miscarry. They put her on baby asprin for the rest of her life. She has since had two more babies with no complications.
I also saw studies about this recently in the news saying people who miscarry multiple times have benefits from taking asprin daily. You may want to google it to find articles.
Ask your Dr. if that is a possibility.
I am so sorry for your loss, it is so hard to get your hopes up and have them crushed. On the bright side, at least you are able to get pregnant which is a huge blessing. Now you just need to get the baby to stick!
Good Luck.

The shot is to prevent you from building up an antibody against the + factor. As long as you get the shots it usually would not cause future problem. I would consult with your Dr. about your concerns so he can put you at ease. Even a quick phone call from your Dr. may but you at ease.

Of course you need to discuss this with your doctor, but I am also Rh- with an Rh+ husband. I am also blessed to have three wonderful children. However, my son (baby #2) was a twin and I lost one. I was told at that time that it was due to the Rh factor. And I did the shots as well, but my doctor told me that baby #1 is never a problem, and if baby #1 has my blood type then baby #2 won't be a problem either, however my oldest has her father's blood type (in fact, my first two have Rh+) which is why my doctor said I had the problems with number two. And my doctor was really suprised that I was able to keep #3! Of course she turned out to have my blood type, so I guess that helped.
Good luck and keep trying!

As long as you had proper prenatal care, your body shouldn't have made any antibodies to the Rh+ blood. Im Rh- also and it took me a loooong time to fully understand the importance if it all. Im sure you know that anytime Rh+ blood could have entered your bloodstream, your body would react by building up antibodies to any future Rh+ babies. Is it possible that you had any other pregnancies and didn't get the Rhogam? It's def. a good question for your doc, and hopefully it's only coincidence!
So sorry for all the pregnancy trouble you are having and I hope you are through the worst of it!
