My son's daycare painted some this week. We found them at Home Depot - $6.99 for a bag of 15 - orange and white minis.
I'm hosting a Halloween open house on Friday before trick-or-treating. I thought it would be fun for the little ones to decorate mini pumpkins with stickers, etc. Does anyone know where I can find CHEAP mini pumpkins (grapefruit size or smaller)? I'm expecting about 15 toddlers to stop by, so I don't want to spend a fortune.

You can buy them at Sam's Club too. They come in a bag of maybe 15 or so.
I've seen them at the Mpls Farmers' Market on Nicollet Avenue. The next one is on Thursday, all day, along Nicollet Mall. I can't quote you an exact price, but nothing there is outrageous.
I'd stay away from grocery stores. They're too pricey. Check out www.localharvest.org and find a family farm or farmer's market in your area.
Very often they'll sell things like gourds and mini-pumpkins in bulk/crates for very cheap. The best part is you can make it a family trip to see the fall colors along the way. Don't worry, not all of the farms are too far out...there are many just minutes from the metro..and most farmer's markets are right in the city.
Good luck
I'm not sure if they'd be small enough or not but I got some small pumpkins like the size of a small plate and it was $1.50 each pumpkin at the McDougall's Apple Orchard in Hastings (Apple Junction). Sounds fun.
I saw some at Cub Foods but I can't recall how much they were there. Sorry I couldn't be more help. It does sound like a fun idea though. If you can't get cheap pumpkins maybe you can get cheap gourds? i saw those at Cub too.
Rainbow foods had them for 1.00 each.
