My 12 month old has a milk tooth that has come in crooked. Is this ok, or should i take her to the dentist? Is this something that I should worry about?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks all for the advice. I think I'll take her in just to be on the safe side. It's better to have gone and not needed anything than to not go and regret it later!

I called up the dentist and I asked the same thing. And they told me they do not see children till they are 2. But I think my Pedi told me as soon as they get teeth they should see a dentist. I think I need to find a new dentist.

My son is almost 17 months and has 12 teeth and what looks like 4 more coming in.

When in doubt always go to the Dr., there is a pediatric dentist right next door to my pediatrician(pediactric associates in Boca). Good Luck!

Hi, J.. Well, you should take your daughter to the dentist anyway now that she has teeth, or at least a tooth. I'm not much of an expert on teeth, but if the tooth is really, really crooked, maybe almost sideways, the dentist may see a problem. At any rate, he or she will teach you how to teach your child how to take care of her teeth, and that's important. My son's teeth ended up rotted at a very early age, and he had to have crowns. I didn't end up taking him to the dentist until it was too late, and he had to have almost all his teeth capped. So please do take your baby to the dentist to see that tooth and have him or her evaluate the situation. She may need braces eventually, but you probably won't find out until the permanent teeth come in.

Peace,
Syl

If you are worried about it, I would. I just took my daughter to the dentist for the first time just before her 3rd birthday, per her peditrician, but when we were leaving the dentist recommended they start coming at about a year and a half.
