Hey mommies! My 16month old daughter just got diagnosed with several food allergies. She was having severe diaper rash that often bled and then doctor has finally found that she has food allergies. I need some ideas for meals and quick snacks that are milk free and also some drink idreas for her. She cannot have any milk, strawberries, blueberries, oranges, or raspberries. She is also allergic to Wheat, Soy and Corn but her doctor is most concerned with the milk so he has advised us to take milk out of her diet first. She cannot drink much Juice at all because she tears up her little tummy. When she does get juice it is only about two tablespoons of juice with the rest water. Please keep in mind with your suggestions I need fast snacks and I live in a small town with pretty much the basics. (Rice milk id even hard to find here) Thank you so much for your help. Have a Blessed day!

Wow Soy is a hard allergy to work in. I feel for you my son is allergic to eggs. um, lets see, can you do carot sticks(cook them so they are soft enough for her to chew)

If you are only removing milk right now, I believe teddy grahams are milk free, double check though. Jello with bananas in it.

I am going by memory here sorry. I heard walmart has rice milk. I would also try talking to your grocery store about stocking rice milk. Do you have family in a bigger city that can get you what you need?

Talk to an allergionist for suggestions too.

Good luck,

I believe you can make your own almond milk:
http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Milk-an-Almond-fre...; or coconut milk (does your grocery store have coconuts? Ours occasionally does.)

For milk free snacks, try fruits. We eat a lot of frozen fruits (banana slices rolled in wheat germ for a nutty flavor, and then sliced & frozen, for example, or just snackin' from the bag of frozen fruit from the freezer section of the grocery store). Or, sliced apples with PB (or try sunflower butter if nuts are a concern; you can make your own with a food processor or coffee grinder I think).

Try the Enjoy Life Foods line: they are free of the 7 most allergenic foods, including milk, nuts, soy, wheat. http://www.enjoylifefoods.com/.

You can also visit the www.kidswithfoodallergies.org for their free recipes section; they also have a very large, searchable recipe database for paying members but I don't remember what the membership is (maybe $20/year?).

Rice milk is all my granddaughter can have and it is even hard to find in Fayetteville at times. Talk to the store manager at your local grocery or
WalMart and see if they will order it for you a case at a time and let you buy the case it when it comes in. They may find out if they keep it on the shelf that other customers will buy it. You might also try your local health food store and yesterday I found some at the local Dollar Tree.

You need to drive out of your little town and go to a store like whole foods or a trader joes where they will have a much larger selection of items your daughter can eat. I had to drive a little over an hour to get hemp milk and rice milk for my little guy but he is well worth the long drive for foods that does not make him sick.
