My name is M. and I am also new to Va Beach. I just moved out here in late October from California. I wish I could tell you a great way to meet new friends out here, but I haven't found it. I do love the area and am expecting my first child in August of this year. I think this will be a great place to raise children. We also love the outdoors. maybe when you make it out here we can meet for lunch or something.

I wish I could tell you that there is a great way to make friends out here but there isn't. My husband and I are in our 20's and we actually just met out here, I have a 14 month old boy from previous circumstances. And I have been here since May 2007, and my husband has been here since 2005.

I don't know where your coming from and how long you were there but you are going to like it here. It's lay back and there is sooo much to do. I've been in the Hampton Roads area since the summer of 2005. I have met some really great friends and constanly meeting new people. I found friends though groups on myspace (Navy wives and mommy groups) and I also joined an online mommy group on yahoo. And I am involved with the FRG for my husband's command (He's Navy). I think the best way to meet people is to just go out there and get involved with your community. It worked for me. =) My husband is on deployment now, and at least once a month I get together with wives from the ship, and other times I get together for lunch with girls I know from myspace (with our children) and then we have playgroups once or twice (sometimes more) a month.
We've been in the area for 3 years now. I have two boys, one will be three in March, the other just born two weeks ago. We're also in our late 20s.

My name is V. and we moved to Va Beach last March my husband is in the Navy but he was here before us.I like most of the things you do except the camping part.I'm in my early 30's my husband in is late 20's I have 2 girls from a previous marriage 11 and 9 years old and he as 2 also 2 and 4 years old and now we have one together 4 month old and I love every bit of it.We have is kids every 2 weeks and we make the best out of it.
So hopefully I will hear from you again if not good luck and enjoy the Hampton Roads.

Just to say welcome to the area. My kids are a lot older than yours, but you and I have some of the same interests. I love to camp, but its more fun with a group of people. My husband hates it. That makes it no fun. He likes dealing with the stress of life. The whole no t.v., no phone service and no computer thing drives him nuts. He would rather stay in a hotel. I also like to scrapbook. Have a lotof stuff to workwith, but no space. trying to remedy that though. Just to let you know, I have 2 girls who are wonderful babysitters who come with great referances.
